WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Col. Donald Wilson passed the guidon of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center’s Air and Cyberspace Intelligence Group to Col. William Fry as part of a change of command ceremony held July 20 at NASIC.

Col. Parker H. Wright, NASIC commander, officiated the ceremony and noted that while Wilson will be missed, he knows AC will be in good hands as Fry takes command.

“As hard as it is to say goodbye to Don, that's counterbalanced by our great fortune to welcome Fry and his family to the team,” Wright said. “BJ and I go way back, we raised our right hand and took our first oath of office in front of the cadet chapel at the exact same moment just over 26 years ago and commissioned on the same day four years later.

“I couldn't have asked for a finer, more competent, better prepared leader and officer to take the guidon from Don Wilson,” he continued. “We truly hit a homerun with BJ.”

Prior to taking command, Fry served as the Joint Staff Intelligence J2 representative to J39 and Deputy Director for Global Operations in Washington, D.C.

"I am happy to be a part of the NASIC team,” Fry said. “NASIC has provided outstanding support to me throughout my career at both the tactical and strategic levels and I look forward to working with my NASIC teammates to continue the important work being done daily within this organization."
During Fry’s career, he graduated from the U.S. Air Force Weapons School where he learned the application of U.S. airpower, was at the forefront of the Department of Defense’s non-kinetic plans and operations, and flew combat operations as a MQ-1 Predator pilot.

“The positions BJ has held throughout his career and the various experiences he has gone through has prepared him to bring this relevant insight to guide AC forward,” Wright said. “It is good to have you join the team.”

Comprised of more than 500 members, AC is responsible for the production of original intelligence assessments on foreign air systems, electronics, directed energy, integrated air defense, and cyberspace systems supporting the warfighter, national policy makers and the acquisitions community.
