The National Air and Space Intelligence Center held a luncheon to honor its 2017 annual award winners and nominees Feb. 23 at the Wright-Patterson Club.

The event recognized military and civilian members of NASIC in 18 categories for their accomplishments in 2017.

Col. Sean Larkin, NASIC commander, presided over the ceremony and congratulated all the nominees on their hard work.

“We had 74 nominees compete at the Center-level,” said Larkin. “I am confident that today’s annual award winners will be tough competition at the ‘Team Wright-Patt’ Annual Awards Ceremony in March.”

During his comments Larkin compared the similarities of the candidates to Olympic athletes who are always striving to be better and emphasized how proud he was of the nominees.

“I would be hard pressed to sum up how much talent and expertise our workforce has, and I want you to know it is appreciated,” said Larkin. “We continue to show that we are some of the nation’s leading experts in air and space intelligence and that knowledge makes me feel more secure when I go home every night. Keep doing what you’re doing!”
