Captain named top AF scientist

Capt. Benjamin Schulze, a member of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, receives a coin from Lt. Gen. Robert Otto, deputy chief of staff for Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, following a surprise announcement of Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, here. Otto informed Schulze he was named the Air Force’s mid-career outstanding scientist or engineer for 2015. Schulze was able to distinguish himself by bringing next-generation overhead persistent infrared capabilities and tools that are now available to warfighters. The STEM awards recognize the efforts and achievements of top Air Force scientists or engineers who make significant contributions to technology and engineering; or solve technical problems in the development, sustainment, testing, training or advancement of Air Force systems.
